Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. DC Comics News: New Information on ‘Justice League’ Films

Justice League Logo

Today has seen a whole pile of new information on the Justice League films from Warner Bros including the first look at the logo above. They have also revealed that following the destruction of his Batmobile in Dawn of Justice, Batman has indeed built a new one and that was also revealed today:

Batmobile Film V2

Also the news site Collider has today talked about a recent onset visit to the film currently being filmed in London and talks about several scenes in the film and confirm that lessons have been learned and that the two part Justice League films will be much light in tone to ‘Dawn of Justice’ with more natural comedy moments and not so focused on deconstructing the heroes in the eyes of the audience.

The first part will focus on Bruce Wayne recruiting the members of the Justice League with one scene being shown to reporters has Bruce recruiting Barry Allen/The Flash. To avoid spoilers if you wish to learn more please check the link above to the Collider report.

Dawn of Justice

Ben Affleck has also spoken about how his Bruce Wayne has changed in Justice League and that fans will see more of the Detective side of Batman in the Justice League films and the solo Batman film which Affleck has confirmed to be directing as well as being credited as Executive Producer on Justice League. The script is not 100% completed yet. Deborah Snyder, Producer on the films also commented on how each of the solo character films will exist together:

“All the films kind of fit in a timeline, but they’re independent films. You can see one and not need to see the other. They operate on their own. They all have their own tone and they deal with different characters. Yet they’re all in the same filmic universe and there is little bits of crossovers that we see. But that isn’t essential to the story.”

That is a whole bunch of information on Justice League and the future character solo films and it sounds as though the feedback from Dawn of Justice has very much been taken to heart not just by DC and Warner Bros but by Zack Snyder and the cast. My own feelings on Dawn of Justice were not the same as the overwhelming negativity surrounding it, it had its faults but it was not a complete travesty and fit in with the tone set my ‘Man of Steel’ but with the members of the Justice League now joining it does offer a chance for a much lighter use of DC Comic’s most iconic heroes.

DC Film News: First Official Teaser Trailer for ‘Dawn of Justice’ Released Early

Dawn-Of-Justice-Logo

The original plan was for DC to release this trailer on Monday following an exclusive IMAX screening in the US, but no doubt as a result of the trailer being leaked to the internet over night (17/4/15) the full teaser trailer has been released:

Zack Snyder’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is in theaters March 25, 2016.

*My Thoughts:

Not surprised to see the full teaser trailer released early as a result of the leak. I chose to wait for the full release to have the best quality trailer to watch. Tone wise, it is very dark and a very concentrated focus on the world’s reaction to Superman following the events of Man of Steel. We see the world looking to Superman as a saviour for them, whilst the people in power question his motives and threat to them and the world. It hints that Superman may become corrupted under the pressure the people of the world will put on him both in maybe demand of his help and how they revere him maybe.

Was interesting to see Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, slightly grey haired, with the voice over of Alfred talking to him about how it begins with rage, the voice of Jeremy Irons playing well in delivering what could be encouragement or justifying the need for Wayne to put on or perhaps, put ‘back on’ the Bat suit which we see hanging up.

Ending with the same scene we saw from San Diego Comic Con last year, a scene many DC fans will recognise from Frank Miller’s ‘Dark Knight Returns’ graphic novel which also appears to be the foundation, in part at least, for Dawn of Justice. Batman asking Superman if he bleeds, because he will….that is a very Dark Knight Returns toned threat and very much shows that this will be a Batman Vs Superman fight, indicating to me at least, that it is Batman stepping up to fight Superman for whatever reason rather than Superman seeking to fight him.

I am buzzed for the film, I was before this trailer. Whilst it is just a teaser, it has succeeded in showing us a very dark tone for this film, very much in the Chris Nolan style but also something very interesting to see what will be the cause of this iconic battle. Will be a long wait till March 2016!!
