The news fans of both ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ have been waiting for has finally been announced today with the news that a crossover/cross network event will take place in March as The Flash, played by Grant Gustin, will guest appear on an episode of Supergirl.
Executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, said in a statement
“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl. We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out.
And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”
A crossover had been rumoured right after Supergirl had been commissioned for a series despite the show airing on CBS whilst The Flash is on CW Network, but with the same team producing both it was always possible. It is also no surprise that it will be a guest appearance on Supergirl that links the universes of The Flash and Arrow as its makes sense for Barry Allen to appear in most likelybisca different timeline universe to that of Arrow and The Flash.
Fans will get a real kick out of this, I myself am intrigued to see what the episode will be like.
